SEATTLE, Wash. – The ground beneath you begins to move. The shaking grows stronger and stronger. Pictures on walls and knickknacks on tables fall over. Do you know what to do when an earthquake hits?
This Thursday is the “Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill.” People around the country are encouraged to register for the event and practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold at exactly 10:17am on October 17th.
The purpose of the event is to help families, schools, and workplaces practice what to do when an earthquake strikes. It’s also meant to help you recover quickly from damage and destruction by providing resources and emergency information.
As you think about your family’s safety, Insurance Services Group is thinking about your biggest asset – your home. Damage caused by earthquakes isn’t always covered by your homeowner insurance policy. Infact, only 11.3% of homeowners in Washington hold some kind of earthquake protection for their home, according to Washington's Office of the Insurance Commissioner. If you aren’t part of that 11%, then you aren't covered. But it’s not too late to do something about it and our team can help.
We have access to the very best earthquake insurance programs available in the industry. The policies are superior to anything we’ve been able to offer in the past with low deductibles and amazing rates. As you prepare your earthquake plan for your family let us provide peace of mind knowing you have protection in place for your home when the big one strikes.
